The People of Hanover

The Hanover, Illinois, of 2002 combines Twentieth Century progress and technology with its scenic, agricultural roots.

Hanover thrives on volunteerism and civic involvement. You can witness a bit of it for youself every year at Hanover Days (July 3-4) and Mallardfest (early Fall). Thanks to the efforts of its citizens, it boasts the following:

An active volunteer Fire Department, which draws crowds every year with fundraisers like the pig roast and pancake and sausage supper.
A township library.
A volunteer ambulance service.
A village Chamber of Commerce.
A Veterans' of Foreign Wars hall and Ladies' Auxiliary.
A community theater group, the Back Street Players
